Ney Fernandes
Translator: English, Portuguese, French and Italian to Spanish.
Ney has an undergraduate degree in Applied Foreign Languages (English-Spanish) with an emphasis on translation from the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris), as well as an undergraduate degree and a Master’s Degree in Editorial, Financial and Technical Translation (English and French to Spanish) from the Graduate School of Interpreters and Translators in Paris (École Supérieure d’Interprètes et de Traducteurs – ESIT).
In addition to being a freelance translator, he has worked as a research assistant at the Latin American School of Social Sciences (FLACSO), as a professor and also as a senior translator for a financial news service.
Ney sits on the board of the Chilean Association of Translators and Interpreters (COTICH), whose monthly bulletin he edits and designs, and is also a member of the ESIT Alumni Association (AAE-ESIT).
He has several years of experience translating in areas such as finance and economics, mining and metals, legal documents, astronomy, social sciences, and subtitling.
