Presentation :
I'm a freelance translator with a vast experience mainly in the areas of Information Technology and Multimedia (games and software manuals, as well as localisation). I consider myself a very responsible person, with a high degree of commitment and always striving to do my best in every situation. I'm used to challenges, therefore working under pressure doesn't represent a problem to me. Apart from that, I'm also an outgoing and extrovert person.
Interests :
When I'm not translating, I like to spend time with my family. I also enjoy reading, music, sports and collecting.
Qualifications :
- Course of Translators (English & French) - CEL (1987/88)
- First Certificate in English - IPFEL (1988)
- Course in Methodology of Translation - INA (2002)
Professional experience :
In all, I've done so far more than 2,500 translations to several Portuguese and foreign clients, in areas ranging from History to videogame translation, including localisation into Portuguese of two major titles. Those translations amount to more than 7,500,000 words, a figure that speaks for itself, and also one I believe is quite impressive if one considers that only recently I was able to devote myself full-time to this true passion that translating represents for me.
Prices :
I usually charge €0,07 per word when translating small to average-sized documents. For bigger documents, the price can be negotiated.
Working method :
I have an Intel Pentium Quad Core with 2 GB of RAM, 1.5 TB of hard disk space and Windows Vista Ultimate & Office 2007, with broadband connection to the Internet. I also have a Pentium IV notebook with 512 MB of RAM and Centrino technology. Both computers are connected to each other in a LAN environment, allowing for full mobility. Apart from that, I work with Trados software.
I also have an inkjet printer, a flatbed A4 scanner and a flatbed A3 scanner.
