Presentation :
We are an EU, Malta based grouping of translators who have come from different fields and operate under the name of Transcripta Translations. Dr. Alex Spiteri Gingell is a linguist lawyer, Mr. Christopher Bezzina B.Ed a former teacher is specialized in technical translations and Christopher Farrugia, a forensic science consultant. Both Dr. Spiteri Gingell and Christopher Bezzina have worked as language consultants for the European Central Bank.
Since its inception in 2003, Transcripta Translation Services has steadily established itself as a leading translation services provider in Malta, thanks to our rigorous attention to detail and high emphasis on strict quality control. We also give great importance to delivering a personalised service which is customised depending on our clients’ particular needs. As sub-contractors to the European Translation Consortium (Brussels) N.V, we handle the translation of circa 1,000,000 words per annum of technical regulations for the European Commission, DG Enterprise.
Recently we have also been awarded a framework contract by CDT from French and English into Maltese, with a projected workflow of 1,000,000 words per annum. Through this framework contract we provide translation services for the various EU Agencies

Qualifications :
Dr. Alex Spiteri-Gingell LL.D is reading for a Master in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Malta. He is a Lawyer by profession.
Mr. Christopher Bezzina holds a B.Ed degree with particular emphasis on mathematics.
Mr. Christopher Farrugia qualified in Medical Laboratory Sciences and continued his studies leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic Sciences from the University of Strathclyde under the auspices of UNESCO and the Goverment of Malta.
Professional courses :
We have all had professional courses in technology, methodology and translations. These courses were in translation work and software application including also Computer Aided Memory tools like SDLX and TRADOS
Professional experience :
We all started working on translations at the same time, 5 years ago, and our experience and knowledge evolved from there. However our willingness to co-operate and learn and our commitment in our endeavours to make Transcripta a committed, independent and profitable venture and good chemistry between the Partners provided an added impetus to work together.

Working method :
Quality Management System
Our quality management system starts from the strict selection criteria employed in the choice of translators and linguistic revisers :
Translators
Translators are chosen according to the following criteria:
i. They must be native speakers in the target language ;
ii. As a minimum, they must have an Advanced level certification in the source language ;
iii. Minimum of 3 years translation experience and/or specific training in translating.
iv. University Degree.
v. They must successfully complete our translators’ initiation test, which has been developed according to international translation standards.
Linguistic Revisers
Linguistic Revisers must satisfy the same criteria established for translators, and in addition they are required to have a University Degree in the target language.
