Presentation :
After finishing my degree in May 2004, I came to live in Seville, Spain (where I had previously lived for one academic year studying at the University of Seville). For seven months, I worked as an administrative assistant, with special translating duties (written translations and interpreting). During this time, I perfected my Spanish, and complemented my studies with practical experience, considering myself now to be bilingual. For the last few months, I have worked as a freelance translator through contacts in Madrid, Barcelona and the Netherlands.
Interests :
I am interested in cinema, literature, travelling and learning languages (4 at conversational level). I am currently learning Norwegian for a future trip.
Qualifications :
BA Hons degree in Spanish Studies from the University of Hull
(Including 1 year translation course, and one year spent abroad)
Professional experience :
· Over 20,000 words for a website about the Spanish postal system (services, products, history, etc.)
· 8,000 words for a Dutch website translated from English into Spanish (email services, IT)
· Various other smaller jobs, including 1,300 words about insecticides and 350 words about data protection.
