Presentation :
A published author of books and articles in cultural anthropology, I have worked as a translator on both a freelance basis since 1991, including in an in-house capacity from 1991 to 2004 in a real estate development firm. My most recent project was the translation of an art history thesis. Prior to that I translated an educational textbook about space. Translation projects included texts from the areas of real estate, construction, marketing, contracts, and general business. I have also translated texts relating to art and the art market. In addition, I specialize in the translation of academic texts, in particular anthropology and other social science texts, personal documents, and children's literature.

Interests :
I am an independent scholar, undertaking various research and writing projects in cultural anthropology. I also have edited and published a historical document in German.
Qualifications :
Ph.D., cultural anthropology, New School for Social Research, 1987; B.A., cultural anthropology and French; American Translators Association certification for translations from German to English; extensive list of publications (books and articles) in the social sciences (list available upon request).
