Musical Composition Diploma. Music Conservatory “A. Casella”, L’Aquila - First stage (5th year) Diploma of the experimental course “Nuova Didattica della Composizione”. Mark: 9/10.
Professional experience :
1988-96: in-house Italian Translator and Editor for PHILIPS at POLYGRAM division (Baarn, NL) producing translations under pressure and tight deadlines in an international environment, both for Philips Classics Productions (Audio HW and SW).
1996-2000: TV programs distribution manager, attending to international business in Europe and America.
2001 - present: Freelance Translator, Editor and Project Manager. All large translation jobs completed, including a SAP R/3 on-line manual for EXXON, Internal communication, PR, and marketing brochures for PARKER HANIFIN, JOHN CRANE and others resulted in clients requesting for further services from me.
A major assignment was the translation of the UI and HTML Online Help for the last version of the CAD software Revit. In that case I could handle very high volumes trough an efficient use of translation memory software and the collaboration with a professional proofreader, always available to work with me and specialized in coded documents. As a result, now I have been contracted as a free-lance translator by AUTODESK Inc., the new owner of the Revit software.
Ongoing collaborations with various translation agencies Europe, America, and Asia, cover a great variety of subjects including Automotive documentation (Service Manuals for GENERAL MOTORS and SUBARU), Electronics and Home appliances manuals, Music, SAP on-line instruction manual, Software on-line help, Technical manuals.
I am presently under contract as a correspondent from Italy writing in the English language for the prestigious American classical music site andante.com.
