Presentation :
I work as a translator and interpreter from German to English. I was born and educated in England where I gained a BA (Hons) in German and a Cert. Ed. at Bristol University. I came to Germany in 1970 and have lived and worked here since, except for 5 years (1979-1984) when I lived with my family in Papua New Guinea. I have worked as a translator and interpreter since 1995; in 1996 I gained my Diploma in Translation from the Institute of Linguists in London and in 1997 my state-recognised qualification as business translator for the English language from the Hamburg Chamber of Trade. I am a certified translator accredited to the High Court of Schleswig-Holstein.

Professional experience :
I have translated several books and many academic documents and papers for publication, ranging from books on mission history and social and cultural studies to interdisciplinary contributions to the Ratzeburg Summer University on sustainable deveopment in the Baltic Sea Region. I also worked as a simultaneous translator there and at many other conferences and inter-cultural meetings.
I work for the Husumwind trade fair, the leading international trade fair of the wind energy sector, and have translated for example their database, handbooks and newsletters. I also work for the Husum Wirtschaftsfoerderungsgesellschaft and the Tourism and Marketing Association.
I translate a variety of legal documents including contracts, company incorporation documents, internal company regulations, and birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates from all over the world into German or English.
Prices :
Per source word 0.07 - 0.10 Euros or 0.92 Euros per standard line of 55 strokes, but can vary depending on nature of text, deadline and amount of work
