Presentation :
I am naturally bilingual, as my parents are Swedish and I grew up in England. I earned my university degree (in International Relations) from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, which allows you to submit your thesis and work in both languages, so I have a university level proficiency in both. I’ve been doing work on a freelance basis as a writer and translator for the past 5 years. The last few years, after finishing my degree, my translation work has tended more and more towards the social sciences, but I also specialise in politics, international organisations, and literary translations. Other projects include a wide range of subjects; from importing regulations, contracts for a variety of companies, to the more general, such as newspaper articles and market research.
Professional experience :
I have been doing translating, though not on a fulltime basis, for the past 5 years. My experience ranges from articles for teenage magazines, travelling magazines and daily newspapers; through internal company documents and importing regulations. Since earning my degree from the University of Gothenburg, most of my translation work has been related to politics, international relations,or international development and organisations.
