Presentation :
I am a young freelance translator, who graduated in 2000 from the Catholic University of Lille (France) as a Translator, Interpreter and Trade Executive. After my degree I worked as an in-house translator within different companies based in France and the U.K. Those first enriching experiences encouraged me to run my own business in France and offer my clients tailored translation services to enhance their communication.

At the moment I work mainly with translation agencies based in the U.K and German-speaking countries.
Previously I worked for an English firm of solicitors as well as for British insurers commissioned by Egg to oversee the launch of the Egg Card in France (interpreting contract).
Qualifications :
2000: Diploma from the French-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry with upper second class honours

2000: Catholic University of Lille. Master’s degree in Translation, Interpretation and International Trade, at ESTICE (College for Translators, Interpreters and International Trade Executives).

1998: University Lyon III in Lyon. Bachelor’s degree in German Language and Civilisation

1994: High School Notre Dame de Bel-Air in Tarare, France. High school diploma in Economics and Social Sciences
Professional experience :
2002: Freelance Translator (German, English -> French). Translations provided in the following areas of specialisation: marketing, trade, insurance, economics, law, gastronomy etc…

2002: Export agent in a French textile company.
* Organization of international trade fairs like Heimtextil and Indigo.
* Management of the foreign customers’ requests and orders.

2001: Translator-Interpreter at Prettys Solicitor (Ipswich, U.K).
* Translation of legal, economic, insurance, medical documents and of the firm daily correspondences with foreign agents or correspondents (EnglishGerman and EnglishFrench).
* Telephone liaison with agents abroad.

2000: Translation into French of "Deutschland unter der Diktatur. 1933 - 1945", German historical work written in 1966 by Hagener.

Translation German -> French = from 0,10 Euro / target word.
Translation English -> French = from 0,10 Euro / target word.

Urgent translations which require evening, weekend or bank holiday attention will attract additional charges.
Working method :
Equipment: Laptop with Windows XP as operating system, DSL connection (4 Mb), printer, scanner, fax.

Softwares: Office XP, Acrobat Reader, Trados 5.5.

Method:
1. Assessment of the complexity level of the target document before accepting or declining the order.
2. For large orders, an initial down-payment (30 %) will be required.
3. Translation of the document with Trados (wherever possible).
4. Proofreading. Delivery of the translation by email, fax or post.
5. The invoice is sent shortly afterwards by email or by post (on request).
6. Payment is requested by automatic bank transfer within 30 days of invoice date.
