I am a freelance translator with 14 years experience translating from Dutch to English. My general areas of expertise include the EU, government and politics and law (in particular social and EU law).

Professional experience :
1990-1992: freelance translating and editing, University of Tilburg, Faculty of Social Law.
1990: translation of the book "Introduction to the Social Security Law of the Member States of the European Community" (Maklu publishers 1990)
1992-1995: in-house Dutch>English translator for the ANWB (Dutch Automobilist Association). Work included legal, insurance and medical (reports) translations as well as more general texts on travel and tourism and marketing.
1995: return to freelance work.
2000: freelance translations for the Dutch Institute for Migration.
2000: edited the book "Social Security in Transition", published by Kluwer International in 2000.
Among other projects I am currently working as part of a team of of translators translating press releases and texts for the website of the Dutch government in connection with their EU presidency.
