Presentation :

We are a husband and wife team of professional translators and interpreters based in Thessaloniki, Greece with over ten years of experience in this field. Specifically, my native language is Greek and my other working languages are English, German and Dutch, while my husband has English and Spanish as his native languages and also works with Italian, Greek and French. We have both lived for extensive periods of time in the countries in whose languages we work. We possess experience and provide translation services over a wide range of subjects. For example, I have also worked as a technical translator in the field of biotechnology at Innovatis GmbH, Germany, while my husband works as an interpreter for the institutions of the European Union. I hold a Master’s Degree in Translation from the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor’s Degree in German Language and Literature from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since 2010 we are both approved translators for the European Commission. We can also provide translations involving other language combinations through our network of free-lance translators, all of whom translate only into their native language.
Interests :
I am interested in theatre and cinema, music, literature, traveling, tennis, sailing, horse-riding, cycling, swimming.
Qualifications :
1. Master’s degree (With Merit) in Bilingual Translation (English-Greek) in the University of Westminster. Options: interpreting, subtitling. MA Translation Project: EU integration. Specialization: in both, technical and institutional texts.
2. Attendance of the lectures of the 1rst semester of the EMCI (European Master’s in Conference Interpreting), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Languages: English and German into Greek.
3. Successful attendance of an interpreting seminar (English-Greek), organised from the ITI institute in Athens, Greece
4. Bachelor’s Degree in German Language and Literature, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (first-class degree, grade: 7, 7/10)
5. Erasmus-student in Germany in the university “Johannes-Gutenberg Universitaet Mainz”. Translation classes in English, German, Greek and Dutch.
6. Dutch language certificate for foreign language learners (Proficiency level): “Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal, uitgebreide kennis (=hoogste niveau)”.
Dutch summer-course in Zeist, Holland. Course theme: Dutch language and culture.

Professional experience :
I began to work as a translator in the year 2000. I have worked with translation agencies all over Greece and from many countries in Europe, such as Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Austria and others. I have worked one year in Germany as an in-house translator.
Prices :
0. 05 - 0.12euro/translated word depending on the language combination. As a minimum, I charge the equivalent of 250 translated words. For interpreting, I charge between 250 and 300 euro/day.The minimum charge for interpreting is 80 euro.
