I translate mainly from German but also French and exclusively into my mother tongue: English. Aside from my language background (born in Germany, brought up bilingually in Britain, living in France) and more than 12 years' professional experience, I hold a diploma in business and humanities translation from the Institute of Linguists in London and work with TRADOS translation software.

Professional experience :
After working full-time for two years in a Berlin-based translation office, I spent five years writing and translating texts in the English language department of Deutsche Welle TV, the German equivalent of CNN and BBC World. Since 1995 I have worked primarily as a freelance translator, though I have also subtitled more than 90 films. For four years, I translated articles from the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper several times a week for a supplement in the International Herald Tribune. Other regular customers include language publishers Langenscheidt, the Berlin Film Festival (for whom I have translated catalogues for the past five years), FIFA and the Berlin Business Development Corporation (whose site I recently translated).
I specialise in translating texts in the fields of media, IT, marketing and sport, though I also translate legal and some financial documents.
