Presentation :
I am a native English speaker, brought up in Dubai and have studied Arabic for over 20 years. I have 6 years professional experience of Arabic English translation and I have a degree in Arabic and Economics from the University of London. I also have extensive experience proofreading English texts and editing American English into British or Australian. My excellent knowledge of the Arabic language and my extensive experience as a professional translator ensures that I deliver high quality results every time.

Studied Arabic-English/English-Arabic translation every year as part of the degree and gained the ability to translate a wide range of literary, journalistic, financial, medical, legal and educational texts.
Achieved first class honours in my final year translation and language course

Undertook paid translation (Arabic-English) for private clients in Egypt. Mostly legal documents, e.g. contracts (Approximately 35,000 words in total)
Translated text books for university students at the Arab Academy of Science and Technology to enable them to have parallel texts. Subjects included Economics, Finance, Law, Management Studies and IT. (Approximately 125,000 words)
London: Sept 1998 – August 2003
Worked as a translator for private clients, on a wide variety of projects including:
Feb 1999 – Sept 1999: translated documents for the defendant in a court case as and when needed. Mostly legal and financial texts (approximately 62,500 words )
May 2000 – May 2003: worked on a freelance basis for a UK government body as and when needed on a variety of styles of texts (approximately 173,000 words). Also worked as a proof reader for them for approximately 15 hours a week.
