CV
Presentation :
I'm a freelance translator specializing in patent translations, as well as other legal matters such as contracts.
My experience is based on my employment at a Japanese-German law office in Japan. Holding a university diploma in translation, I was quickly able to familiarize myself with translation practices in various legal fields, most notably the translation of patents, from Japanese and from English into German.
Since 2004, I'm working as a freelance translator. I also feel very comfortable translating texts from a range of subjects other than patents.
Interests :
My personal interests include music and natural sciences, as well as foreign countries.
Qualifications :
I have a diploma in translation from the University of Bonn, Germany.
Prices :
J>G: I generally ask between 0.06 and 0.09 Euro per character of the source text; if preferred, prices can also be set according to the number of lines or words of the translated text.
E>G: 0.55 Euro per line or 0.07 Euro per word
Working method :
I work at home using either a PC or a Macintosh computer which are both fully able to process Japanese characters; currently I can offer translations in Microsoft Office formats (including Office 2007 open source format) and Apple Works.
The CAT tool SDL Trados is available.
