Presentation :
I am an English-Greek translator (bilingual) with 4 years experience. I have been born and raised in Greece by a Greek father and a Puerto-Rican/New Yorker mother.
I recently returned from Brighton, UK where I lived for 20 months.

My main interest is in technical texts (manuals).
Interests :
I enjoy surfing the internet, learning about new technology and gadgets and reading a good book.

▪ National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, B.A. in English Studies (1995-1999)
▪ European Educational Group – Translation and Interpretation (1999-2001)
Professional experience :
▪ In-house translator for 2 agencies from September 2001 to August 2002 and from May to August 2003. Ongoing freelance cooperation with both of them.

Types of texts (mainly):
- Technical: manuals for software help, home appliances, audio and video equipment, computer monitors, peripherals, tools, etc. (e.g. for Epson, Lexmark, HP, Nokia, Microsoft)
- Legal (mainly contracts and tenders)
- Medical: manuals for medical equipment (analysers), general pharmaceutical texts. Ongoing cooperation with a doctor (GP- Gastroenterologist).
- Recipes and articles for www.gourmed.gr
- Internet sites (most recent: www.britishcouncil.org/gr, www.globaltestmarket.com (into Greek))
Prices :
Depend on type of text, urgency and availability.
Working method :
Knowledge of the translation aid software Trados, Deja Vu and Wordfast.
I usually receive and deliver projects by email.
