A
FEW INSTRUCTIONS: WORD LISTS, GLOSSARIES AND DICTIONARIESHere
are a few tips on getting the most out of your searches: |
|
| |
a)
You can use just the "Search by name" zone at any time. All
you have to do is enter the main keyword for the subject you're working on. |
|
| So,
if you're a French translator trying to find out about IT-specific
vocabulary, all you need to do is enter the word "informatique"
(IT) in the search by name field, confirm... and you'll see a
list of 23 results. If you're more particularly interested in networks,
enter "networks" and you'll get 3 results. |
|
| |
b)
If you are looking for all French monolingual resources on the subject of
IT, all you need to do is choose French as both source and target language,
select "informatique" as general field and confirm. You'll
get 25 results and although these do not necessarily contain "informatique"
in their titles, they do all relate to this subject. |
|
| |
c)
If you're translating an IT document from French to German, you can
give French as the source language and German as the target language with
"IT" as the general field. This will give just one result: "Französisch-deutsches
Glossar der Informatik" |
|
Please
note: a lot of resource titles have been encoded in English. So if you're
looking for a Spanish-English dictionary and you enter "zapatos",
you won't get any results whereas if you enter "footwear" you will. |
